Barry Homan was born and raised in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, the third child of John and Myrtice Homan. He graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1967 and from Bentley College in Waltham, Massachusetts (now Bentley University) in 1971.
Like so many people, he had a burning desire to write a novel from an early age. In 1981 he received a diploma from The Institute of Children's Literature for their Writing for Children and Teenagers Course. Unfortunately many years would elapse before he finally managed to put words to paper.
A student of the metaphysical, Barry has studied astrology, tarot cards and many other New Age subjects. He also read countless books concerning the metaphysical realm, and was particularly impressed by the works of Raymond Moody and Brian Weiss. In 1997, after the passing of his father, he began attending the local spiritual church where he met mediums, shamans and channelers who helped him along the way.
Finally adhering to the admonition "write what you know", he decided to write a metaphysical novel incorporating much of what he had learned over the years. A believer in reincarnation since he was a young child, Barry decided that would be the theme of his first book.
WHISPERS THROUGH TIME was the result. Published by American Book Publishing, the novel was released in April, 2012.
Barry and his wife Karen now live in Florida He is currently working on his second novel and has also begun writing a sequel to WHISPERS THROUGH TIME.
